Well, the time has crept up on me and suddenly it’s November! Which means that it’s my turn to choose a block for the Honey Pot Bee, hosted by the one and only Molli Sparkles!
subjects friends, as I adjust my Queen Bee crown, let me tell you about my choice for this month’s block. I went for the most complicated, y-seam heavy, get your seam ripper ready, block that I could find. Kidding. I totally found a nice, easy and fun foundation pieced block. After all, I want you to come over to the dark side and love FPP as much as I do!
So here it is – you can wear your heart on a spool with this little block!
This pattern is perfect for using up those favourite scraps that you just can’t bear to part with (you know the ones I mean), or get a bit adventurous and fussy cut something fun into the centre of the heart. It’s a free pattern (grab your copy here) and comes in a few different sizes so you can pick which one suits best. You could join a few together to make a larger block, or consider this the perfect filler block to help fill in any gaps.
Previously I’ve also made this block into a mini mini quilt. Because I love mini mini’s. This one went as part of a swap package to my quilty friend Angie (who I’m currently living it up with at Houston Quilt Market! Tell you all about it soon!).
Can’t wait to see your versions of this little block! If you make one, feel free to share it on IG and tag it with #quietplaypatterns. While you’re planning the perfect fabrics to use, why don’t you check out the full list of Honey Pot Bee blocks for some more quilty inspiration!
