2022 RBD Block Challenge
New year - new block challenge happening over at Riley Blake Designs - and I'm very excited to be a part of it!
16 designers have shared a block pattern that will be released throughout the first half of the year. These blocks will combine together into a gorgeous quilt. The layout is a mystery but you're sure to love it!
So without further ado - here's my little contribution!
I've been on a bit of a garden/nature theme this year - so I couldn't resist this little Autumn block. Now for those who know me and are used to finding my patterns full of foundation piecing - not this time! This is all traditionally pieced and makes for a fun little sew.
I used RBD Kisses Basic for the green leaf - and the background is my print called Rainbow Scatter from the collaborative low volume collection Hush Hush. While this works beautifully in two colours - you could get creative and add different prints and more colours to make this block your own. I cant wait to see your version!
You can pop over to the Riley Blake Designs website to get all of the details on this fun Block Challenge - including the blocks released so far, fabric requirements, and alllll the details. Here's a quick overview of the schedule below. But make sure to head to the RBD website for the full details, and to grab each week's pattern instructions.
Make sure to share your block on Instagram using the hashtag so you can join in all the fun! #rbdblockchallenge
You can also find a step by step tutorial by the fabulous Cindy Cloward (there's one for each block on the RBD Youtube channel) :) .
