Join the 2024 RBD Block Challenge

Hello 2024! It's a new year and that means there's a new block challenge from the team Riley Blake Designs! And that includes me! I've been a part of the past few years and it's a bunch of fun! This year promises to be just as fun and creative.

If you're ready to sew a fun quilt throughout the first half of 2024 - this is the block challenge for you. 16 designers have each shared a 10" block pattern that will be released each week through til the end of May. You can find a list of each designer and their block dates by clicking below.

At the end of May, these blocks will combine together into a gorgeous quilt. The layout is a mystery but you're sure to love it! (Trust me, I've seen the finished quilt and it's brilliant!)

So without further ado - here's my little contribution for Block 5! Meet Dazzle!

Those who know my patterns know that I'm usually all about the foundation paper pieced patterns. It's my favourite technique, but I do also love dabbling in traditional piecing. This one is made with squares and HSTs (half square triangles) but it's pretty quick to put together.

I opted for a simple palette for my version, making it in Confetti Cotton Solids. But in case you're wondering how it looks in other colours, here are a few mockups.
